Tale 2 is the second chapter of the second Rozen Maiden manga series.
Summary[]
Jun Sakurada's text to his future self in the unwound world asks why he is using the name "Shimada" now and that he needs unwound Jun's help because Kirakishou is too strong. Unwound Jun just thinks the email is strange, but he answers back anyway. Wound Jun explains that they are the same person but from different worlds where one chose to wind and the other didn't and that time in their worlds flows differently. Wound Jun then asks him why his door is marked under the name "Shimada" to which unwound Jun replies that it is the former resident's name and that he doesn't want his personal information there. Wound Jun just finds it pathetic and then changes topic to explaining the seven Rozen Maiden dolls and the Alice Game. He also says that when he chose to wind, he became Shinku's master. Unwound Jun thinks this whole thing is just a scam but continues to reply. The email suddenly breaks into gibberish and unwound Jun gives up on it.
Jun then turns his attention back to the issue of Shinku's parts. Moments later, he suddenly appears in a large pile of doll parts. He panics and then reappears back in his room. He calms and considers what just happened to be a dream.
At work Yamaguchi and Saitou talk to him for a moment until his phone rings. He rushes to the restroom to check his phone. Wound Jun has sent him a response saying that due to how time flows, it might cut messages off. He tells unwound Jun that he must do three things, the first is to make Shinku, wake her up, and the last is cut off by unwound Jun replying his disbelief that he can make a Rozen Maiden. Wound Jun tells him that it's just a temporary body and that nothing is impossible, if he can do it, Jun can.
Unwound Jun retrieves supplies that wound Jun requested. Wound Jun gets unwound Jun started on creating Shinku's clothing. They both discuss sewing how they both have bad memories on the activity. Unwound Jun then tries to talk about Kirakishou but is unable to properly read the kanji of her name and calls her "Yuki", wound Jun corrects him. They talk a bit more and unwound Jun tells him that he never finished middle school or went to high school but he's in university now. Wound Jun also tells him that he hope he hasn't dyed his hair or use contacts. Unwound Jun finishes Shinku's dress and sends wound Jun a photo of it before falling asleep.
He wakes up in the same place full of doll parts. He locates his phone and wound Jun tells him that Kirakishou has found and trapped him. Wound Jun tells him to search the pile for Shinku's last parts but the connection between them then breaks and the phone itself as well. Jun rushes to search the pile as he thinks over how difficult it will be but remembers wound Jun telling him that "nothing is impossible". He mentally scolds his younger self for the optimism, saying that there's a limit to what people can do. He soon locates Shinku's missing foot and then shortly after her missing head. The finished doll floats up and gives off a bright glow. He wakes her up and then remembers the last objective wound Jun gave him: to protect himself as Shinku slaps him.
