Tale 3 is the third chapter of the second Rozen Maiden manga series.

Summary

Jun reacts in surprise to Shinku slapping him. Shinku recognizes him as "the Jun who did not wind". She slaps him with her hair again after he attempts to touch her. Shinku scolds him and he apologizes. Jun discovers that a white vine has begun to creep up him. She tells him that he must make another choice and then he returns to his room abruptly.

He thinks of it as a dream again and then discovers that Shinku is completed in her case. Jun inspects her in near disbelief that this was the same doll he made. He notices that she even has underwear but is too disgusted by the idea of looking further. He texts wound Jun but then Holie flies through his phone screen. Jun remembers Shinku in his "dream" saying he didn't wind the key so he finds her key in one of the boxes. He tells himself he's picking the right answer this time and winds Shinku up. Holie drops Shinku's Rosa Mystica into her as she wakes up. Jun manages to avoid Shinku's slap this time. Shinku looks around his room disapprovingly.

Jun demands explanations from her. She explains that Holie is her Artificial Spirit. She also explains the state of her sisters. Kirakishou has a plan to capture them all. Souseiseki and Hinaichigo have lost their Rosa Mystica. Suigintou, Suiseiseki, and herself are trapped in the N-Field. She explains that she really is trapped in the N-Field because this is a temporary body and her real body is the one in the N-Field. Shinku expresses her thanks to Jun, but Jun quickly realizes she is talking about the wound Jun. Shinku finds out that Jun's phone can no longer communicate with wound Jun for the time being, so she asks Jun to make her some tea.

Shinku goes to sleep for the night and Jun ends up looking for information on the Rozen Maiden on the internet. Finding nothing, he realizes that this really is a world where they don't exist because of the choice he made.

Later, they go to a store to put out a teapot, Shinku in his bag. They run into Saitou who is looking for fabric for a costume. As she shows off the fabric for her elevator girl outfit, Shinku comments to Jun that his girlfriend is cute. Jun shows Saitou a cheaper fabric that can look more interesting than the fabric she picked out. Saitou comments that he must know sewing.

That night Shinku comments to Jun that he seems to have more confidence. She then scolds him for using teabags to make tea with. She still drinks the tea, which Jun notices. He then takes a shower and thinks over the changes Shinku has brought to his life. He's glad that now he has someone to talk to in his house and that his days are much more interesting. He then wonders what wound Jun and Shinku would talk about and Jun feels the want to change his past again. He considers the possibilities of what a better past could have made his present. He thinks of Saitou when thinking about a girlfriend and then questions himself why he'd think that.

As Shinku looks at the moon, she tells Holie that she has only seven days. Kirakishou looks at Shinku saying this from within the N-Field and repeats these words.

Jun wakes up the next day and discovers a new How to Make a Girl in the mail.
