Tomoe Kashiwaba (柏葉 巴 Kashiwaba Tomoe) is an honor student at Jun Sakurada's school.

Personality

Tomoe is a quiet and kind-hearted girl, although her speech and style tend to be a bit dry that she she often hides her true feelings.

History

Tomoe was originally Hinaichigo's master, but the bond between them was broken when Hinaichigo used too much power in her fight with Shinku. Had she not broke the contract, Tomoe would have suffered further and eventually died.

In the manga, Tomoe would occasionally visit Jun to check on Hinaichigo. Before it was severed, Tomoe's bond with Hinaichigo was about as close as siblings. They would go everywhere and do everything together. However, Tomoe would have had to go to school, leaving Hinaichigo alone and sad that she would leave.

Tomoe learned kendo from her father from an early age and is a member of the kendo club at school. She is often seen carrying her shinai when class is over. She is also a member of the school committee, seemingly reluctantly.

Etymology

• The name Tomoe means "huge comma design" (巴).
• Tomoe's surname Kashiwaba means "oak" (柏) (kashiwa) and "leaf" (葉) (ha/ba).
