Youji Yuibishi (結菱葉爾 Yuibishi Yōji) is the owner of the Rose Mansion during the Taisho Era.

Appearance

Youji Yuibishi is an adult male of average size and build. His hair color is unknown, but is possibly a light brown like other characters whose hair are also rendered plain white in the manga series. His eye color is also unknown. He is typically seen in formal suits of western design.

Relationships

Kiku

Youji is Kiku's employer. He doesn't give her much mind until she gains the confedence to talk to him. He later helps her with finding Hana, initally informing her of Hana's disappearance and then offering her a ride to the Youunkaku, the place of Hana's employment. When she is unable to glean any new information about Hana's whereabouts, he offers her his help.

Hana

He and Hana are at first somewhat confrontational with each other, as this is how Hana initially regards him. He takes an interest in talking to her about the 13th floor of the Youunkaku, but she denies to share any information with him. When she has a fall from the sky, he attempts to catch her only for her to crush him to the ground and later accuse him of inappropriate contact. She later yells at him for following her back to her apartment. The two then get into further conflict over who Souseiseki should be contracted to. The two then later visit the top floor of the Youunkaku and their differing personal views come to light: Youji seeing the city below as beautiful while Hana instead thinks of how much suffering the people below live in. He disregards her thoughts on the matter and further eleborates that the lights are the sign of a strong nation and people. These differing views likely stem from their differing social classes.

Shinku

Youji develops an obsession with finding Shinku after seeing her in a dream.

Etymology

• The name Youji means "leaf" (葉) (you) and "you, thou, second person" (爾) (ji).
• Youji's surname Yuibishi means "tie, bind" (結) (yui) and "diamond (shape), water chestnut, rhombus, water caltrop, caltrop (weapon)" (菱) (hishi/bishi).

Trivia

• He is the first new character seen in Rozen Maiden 0, making a silhouetted appearance in the first page of the first chapter.
